Historical Milestones

1997 Contract for delivery of fleet of 357 Electrostars signed between ABB-Daimler Benz (commonly known under its brand name of ADTRANZ) and LTS Rail. 
1999 DaimlerChrysler bought ABB’s shares and became known as Daimler Chrysler Rail Systems and in this year the first phase of 46 trains was delivered. 
2001 Bombardier acquired Daimler Chrysler Rail Systems 
2002 Second phase of 28 trains was delivered. 


2005 Golden Spanner Award for Maintenance Team of the Year (Rolling Stock) and Golden Spanner Award for Best Modern EMU at the Annual National Rail Awards
