Bombardier’s Derby site is a global centre of excellence for rail engineering and aluminium carbody manufacture. The site is the only facility in the UK able to design, manufacture, assemble and test new trains for domestic and export markets.

The site also has a services diagnostic fleet control centre and vehicle refurbishment, as well as Head Office for UK activities including bids, sales, finance, human resources and legal departments.
