ELECTROSTAR - United Kingdom

These modern looking, state of the art, airconditioned ELECTROSTAR electric trains are either three or four cars length, each car having two wide sliding powered doors per side capable of handling the passenger densities and flows required by busy urban and suburban services.

The trains are designed to operate at speeds up to 160 km/h. They are highly reliable, easily maintainable and meet the latest safety standards. Special attention has been paid to ensure that whole life costs are minimised.

The ELECTROSTAR trains have a high level of passenger comfort with a very quiet interior environment. The passenger information system, in both visual and audible form, relays messages throughout the journey.
